Capt. Les Bolton, Executive Director
After a successful career in the private sector, Capt. Les Bolton joined GHHSA as executive director in 1990, leading efforts to refocus the organization on a new mission after a period of uncertainty. Under his guidance, GHHSA retired more than one million dollars in debt. And the organization has earned a reputation as a leading provider of training opportunities in tall ship handling, heritage learning experiences for K-12 students, and cultural experiences for individuals and families. Capt. Bolton is now coordinating activities aimed at achieving GHHSA's vision for a new destination maintenance, education, and moorage facility in Aberdeen.
